Computer Technician

Location:  Drummondville

Job Summary:

The computer technician is responsible for the management of the workstations fleet, from a software and hardware perspective.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Deploy new hires equipment.
  • Acknowledge and respond to Help Desk requests as needed and via the ticket system.
  • Identify and resolve software and hardware configuration issues.
  • Maintain the fixed assets inventory system up to date.
  • Maintain IT equipment security within its deployments.
  • Monitor computer systems to improve performance and make recommendations for improvements and modifications.
  • Mentor and train less senior staff.
  • Create and document processes.
  • Ensure 24/7 operational service level via on-call duty.
  • Other projects and duties as assigned by manager.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • CEGEP in Information Technology or DEP in Computer Support or relevant experience in lieu.
  • Demonstrated proficiency and understanding of various types of hardware.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Must be able to communicate at a high level in French and English.
  • CompTIA A+ or MS Windows Server and Windows Client, preferred not required.
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Good time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
